Terms of Service

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and [Legal entity name] ("ATLAS", "we", "us") governing your use of the ATLAS website and service (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What ATLAS is
ATLAS is a football analytics and probability-literacy service. It produces statistical model estimates — a Dixon–Coles match model and a Monte-Carlo tournament simulation — for informational and educational purposes only. The numbers shown are model outputs, not statements of fact about what will happen.
2. Eligibility — 18+
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use the Service. By using ATLAS you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Not betting or gambling advice
ATLAS is NOT a betting or gambling product, and is not a bookmaker, tipster, or gambling operator. It does not provide tips, picks, "sure things", staking or bankroll advice, or any recommendation to place a wager. Probabilities are model estimates and are NOT predictions of, or guarantees about, real outcomes; the model's priors are not calibrated against real historical results. The Value lab presents odds-literacy concepts (implied probability, edge, expected value) for education only — not as betting advice. Any decision you take, including any decision to gamble, is solely your own responsibility and at your own risk.
4. Your account & sign-in
Sign-in is passwordless: a one-time email link or "Continue with Google". You are responsible for keeping access to your email and Google account secure, and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Accounts are for one person; do not share access.
5. Plans, billing & taxes
ATLAS offers a free tier and paid subscriptions (current names and prices are shown on the pricing page). Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. [Legal entity name] is the merchant of record; where required, applicable taxes (such as VAT) are calculated and added at checkout. You authorise us and Stripe to charge your payment method for each renewal at the then-current price. We will give reasonable notice before any price change takes effect.
6. Cancellation, downgrades & refunds
You can cancel or change your plan at any time from your account. Cancelling stops future renewals; your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law (including the withdrawal rights below), payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not pro-rated.
7. EU/EEA consumers — right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA (or a similar regime), you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital services. At checkout you are asked to request immediate access and to acknowledge that, because performance begins immediately, you lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun; we record that acknowledgment. If you do not give it, your 14-day withdrawal right applies — to exercise it, contact us at [contact email]. This does not affect your other statutory consumer rights.
8. Acceptable use & fair use
Do not: misuse, overload, probe, or disrupt the Service; scrape, bulk-download, resell, or redistribute our data or model outputs except as your plan expressly allows; circumvent paywalls, rate limits, or security; reverse engineer the Service; or use it for unlawful purposes or to operate a competing gambling or tipping service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
Fair use of the assistant: paid plans are described as "unlimited" subject to fair use for normal personal use. To prevent abuse and protect the service, a generous daily limit applies — currently up to 30 assistant questions per day on Analyst and 100 on Edge. These limits reset daily; automated, scripted, or excessive use may be rate-limited or suspended, and we may adjust the limits where necessary to keep the service available and affordable for everyone.
9. AI assistant
The assistant gives grounded, informational answers and may use a third-party language model to phrase them. It can be incomplete or wrong, it does not give betting advice, and a built-in safety layer redirects gambling-harm and personal-crisis messages to support resources. Do not enter sensitive personal information in chat. Conversations are not stored, except on the Edge plan, where saved chat history is kept to your account — you can clear it at any time, and it is covered by data export and account deletion.
10. Third-party data, accuracy & availability
Fixture and result data comes from third-party providers and may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis; we do not warrant that estimates are accurate, that data is error-free, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure.
11. Intellectual property
The Service — including the models, software, design, and content — is owned by [Legal entity name] or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and your plan.
12. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from betting, gambling, or other decisions made using the estimates. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
13. Changes & termination
We may update the Service or these Terms; material changes will be notified by reasonable means and apply going forward. You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms or to comply with law.
14. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [country / governing law], without affecting the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
15. Responsible gambling
If gambling stops being fun, it has stopped being a game. ATLAS is not a gambling service, but if betting is causing you or someone you know harm, free and confidential help is available — for example BeGambleAware (begambleaware.org, 0808 8020 133 in the UK), the US National Problem Gambling Helpline 1-800-GAMBLER, or your national support service. You can self-exclude with gambling operators and use blocking tools at any time.
